Calvin Township is a civil township of Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,039 at the 2010 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.6 square miles of which, 34.4 square miles of it is land and 1.1 square miles of it is water. Calvin Township is the location of the Calvin crater impact.

The Township Board Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm.

The Planning Commission meets as needed. Scheduled meetings will be posted on the website.

Unfortunately, our dumpster was misused with someone leaving trash outside of the recepticle.  Please remind anyone that may be using the dumpster that objects must fit inside completely.  If this type of abuse continues then the dumpster will have to be removed.

Poverty Exemption

MCL 211.7u provides for a property tax exemption, in whole or part, for the principal residence of persons who, by reason of poverty, are unable to contribute to the public charges. In order to receive a poverty exemption, a taxpayer must annually file a completed application form, and all required additional documentation, with the supervisor, assessor, or the Board of Review where the property is located.
